Sunday by Sandnes is the thinnest yarn made from 100% Merino wool and is perfect as a base yarn. It is thin and not superwash treated and can be knitted single or double. It also works very well in combination with Tynn Silk Mohair.
The special structure of the merino wool fibers makes the yarn not only heat-insulating, but also able to wick moisture away from the body and retain heat even when it is damp. Wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in water before it feels damp.
For gentle machine washing, the manufacturer recommends washing all wool items separately in the wool wash program to treat them as gently as possible. Hand-knitted items should be spun briefly and dried flat on a towel to avoid felting. Please avoid washing hand-knitted items in laundry nets or washing bags, as this can lead to friction and the item will become matted.
For hand-knitted clothing, we recommend gentle hand washing in lukewarm water. We offer special products for this in our care range .
